Breaking Bad, Hackney style
Since our methamphetamine-merchandisers left our screens for good in 2013, there’s been a Breaking Bad shaped hole in our lives. To our relief that emptiness has been filled, in the deepest darkest streets of the up and coming area of Hackney Wick. Hiding round the corner of a very plain looking building there’s a very familiar looking RV truck (almost exactly like Walt and Jesse’s wandering lab) ready to fill our lives with Breaking Bad goodness.
On entry a bearded man in a yellow jumpsuit and blue gloves appears, reprimanding the group to “get cooking, yo!”, to continue the meth lab inspired theme the bar boasts arrangements of bubbling beakers lined up next to glass flasks, petri dishes, bottles of solutions and trays of blue crystals.
Heisenberg’s glare looks over your shoulder continuously from the back wall partnered with instructions which tell half of the bar ‘how to make a rum punch named Blue Flynn, named after Walter Jr. The other half is instructed how to make Saul Goodman’s C2H6O Sorbet – a very strong, slushy-styled daiquiri.
The W.W formula technique used to cook the cocktails is mind-blowing, the blue crystal ship, full of Meth (of course it’s not real meth, they’re toffees) is like a dream come true and almost makes you want to shout “YO, Skinny Pete, check this out yo. This is some crazy sh*t Mann” in true Breaking Bad style.
For just £30 each, you and up to ten friends can experience the amazing Breaking Bad experience in Hackney. Your ticket grants you entry into the RV, and the chance to cook two cocktails for your own consumption. If you’re looking for a brilliant, crazy experience full of mayhem and sticky fun for two hours, ABQ London is the place for you.
