We Are Westminster is a month of events throughout November which ensures that the diversity within our university is celebrated. Celebrating Westminster’s diversity allows us to travel around the world without physically leaving London.

First up was the food festival held at the Marylebone campus and featured food from an array of countries.
Traveling around the world, an important part of most people’s bucket lists. Exploring new countries and experiencing new traditions and cultures is a learning experience that everyone longs to have at least once in their life.

Exploring new countries and experiencing new traditions and cultures is a learning experience that everyone longs to have at least once in their life. Part of this adventure, although some may not agree with me, is the different kinds of food you get to taste.

There’s something about food, the way it is cooked and cared for that makes your taste palate party with joy, food is part of any travel experience as it allows you to understand the culture at a much deeper level. However, as we are all student, we don’t really have the luxury to go to another country just for the food.

So thankfully, as part of We are Westminster, students had the opportunity to experience this, for free.

Students had the chance to try Korean, Nigerian, Lebanese, Egyptian, Italian, Caribbean, Zimbabwean and Indian food in just under an hour.

The event was like a dream, imagine yourself going to Lebanon for breakfast, Korea for lunch, Nigeria for dinner and Egypt for dessert and a drink.

We are Westminster offers the chance to become more open minded and have a better understanding of the diverse cultures we have here.

If you’ve missed the food festival, make sure to come to the other events, trust me, you won’t regret it.
