Smoke Radio celebrates National Student Pride 2019
Smoke Radio is feeling pride and will be quite literally changing up the tunes for the next week.
In celebration of the National Student Pride event at the University of Westminster’s Marylebone Campus, Smoke Radio will be coming out by altering our logo and turning up the Pride Anthems for the next week. But that’s not all… Check out Smoke’s social media pages on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook to see new videos from people in the LGBT community at Westminster.
National Student Pride is an annual event that looks to capture the courageous spirit of student activism in the LGBT+ community. Themes for the event in the past have been LGBT homelessness and mental health. This year’s main themes are activism and Pride Not Prejudice.
In the lead up to the main event on the 23rd of February we will be adding new content on our website throughout the coming week.
Over 1,700 students will be in attendance as well as over 75 diverse companies for the Pride Careers Fair. The activism panels with Ian McKellen, Peter Tatchell and Paris Lees, as well as Attitude Magazine’s Pride Not Prejudice panel and the Student Sex Worker panel will be digitally streamed live on this day of fun and empowerment.
This will be the fifth and final year that the University of Westminster will host the event and Smoke Radio wants to make sure it’s the best one yet.
If you can’t make the event you can tune in live to Smoke Radio on the day of the event from 12:30-4:30pm or check out the website for live updates throughout the day.
