Radio & Digital Production Students takeover Smoke Radio!
Smoke Radio are teaming up with the Radio & Digital Production course yet again to bring you a pop-up station for the month of March.
Themed around the topic of gaming, Unlocked launches on Monday 5th March at midday. The station features three shows:
• State of Play: a gaming talk show presented by Tony Basten & Fay Cross (12-1)
• Play Again: a lighthearted look back at all your favourite childhood games, with an eye to the future, presented by Natalie Malcolm (1-2)
• Press Play: playing the greatest music from the games you love, presented by Callum Denning (2-3)
Former Smoke station manager Callum Denning, who presents on the new station, commented, “It’s great to be teaming up with Smoke Radio for our final major project, as many of us have been part of Smoke for the duration of our university careers, it’s nice to bookend our experience with a pop-up station on Smoke”
Unlocked station manager Eliza Cowburn said, “Unlocked promises to be a unique experience as it’s given us all the opportunity to flex our creative minds, it’s been an opportunity for us to curate, develop and execute the management of a radio station. Thanks to Rhys and Smoke as a whole for allowing us this opportunity”
Current station manager Rhys Gunter commented “I am really excited that we are able to showcase what Radio & Digital Production students are up to on Smoke Radio. Hearing some of the past pop-up stations that students have put together before, I am sure Unlocked will reach the great standard as previous projects. I wish the best of luck to the Unlocked team for their project”.
You can listen to Unlocked from 12 til 3 every Monday in March, here on Smoke Radio. Or listen back on unlockedonline.co.uk
